Start by writing a number in the "Number to Show" box. Drag the base ten blocks from the Tool Box to show a picture of each part of the number in the top row. Use the pen tool to write the number of each type of block in the appropriate column in the middle row. Engage students in the practice of meteorology by observing the weather each day. After students come in from recess, they can predict what the temperature is. Simply click on the icon to visit the National Weather Service site. Help students develop conceptual place value understanding with this interactive lesson.
