Rules of Usage: The Articles A, An, and The
Although the Arizona state standards do not directly address this skill, many students, especially ELLs, have difficulty differentiating which article to use in which situation. This is meant to be a stand alone lesson to touch upon the rules of usage, and provide a bit of independent practice. Writing Riddles in Third Grade
This SB presentation includes a great link which will walk students through important steps for writing their own riddles. If you can not find the student worksheet, email me and I will send one I created for use. Our 150 third graders had a blast! There is a lesson plan for this as well. I took several photos at one of the yearly TALL SHIP events in the harbor in Cleveland, OH. It's a magnificent event watching the ships come to harbor.
