Ostinato and Dave Brubeck's "Unsquare Dance"
Students will move and perform to the classic Jazz tune by Dave Brubeck. They learn the ostinato and clap and march to the ostinato in a fun circle dance and can also play along with the bass line. Essential and ELA questions are provided to connect to literacy.
A follow-up lesson has the students composing their own ostinati and performing for their peers. A Common Core classic!

The Little Fugue of Johann Sebastian Bach
Students learn the Art of the Fugue in this colorful and fun lesson that incorporates Dalcrose, instrumental performance, and active listening.
