This product can be used to support the understanding that fractions are equal parts of a whole. Students may plan a pizza with fractional units for each topping. In my classroom, I bring in a toaster oven to cook each students pizza to create real life connections. I also play an interview that a student completed with a pizza restaurant owner to pull in mass, measuring tools, shapes, and career connections to the activity.
