I created a kite during the spring time so that the students can color, paint and decorate. Then they filled out the sentence to say what portion of their kite is that color. For example they color half of the kite blue, a part yellow, and the other part red. Their sentence can say 2 out of 4 are the color blue which is the fraction 1/2.
