Here is a listening chart for your students to follow along to while listening to Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee. I have used it with my 1st grade students with great success to discuss the melodic themes and contour. Using a listening chart also makes it easy to assess the students. For example, you can ask if the little bees were loud or soft, short detached sounds or long connected ones, etc.

On these lists are the things I must do to be successful. The information is very specific to my needs at my school, but I left it all there in hopes it would help you think of what you need to be successful in your situation. What you may need to do could be quite different, so these lists are 100% customizable. Take them a

I use the handout in conjunction with the students "tizzling" (tzzzzz), blowing air, or singing/saying verbal syllables (tah, tat, Tah, Tat, Too, doo). This handout is useful in helping students who
