This is a viewing guide created by Contextual Classroom for International Baccalaureate film students or any other students who are viewing films for critical study and analysis.

This chart will help students collect information about a scene in any film. The chart has space for notes about the major categories of mise-en-scene and film analysis, such as lighting, composition, body language, costume and make-up, sound, space/density, props and setting, camera movement, etc. Also included is a space for students to reflect on directorial choices and their effect on the scene.
