Build a Robotic Arm Lessons - Group and Individual
This is a set of lessons in which students work independently or in a small group to build a robotic arm. The individual lesson requires students to work independently to build a robotic arm for a friend with a Styrofoam allergy by taking the user's feelings and recommendations to build the arm. Democracy and Greek Philosophy GATE-- Is democracy the best of bad options?
I used this lesson with my GATE middle school kids, but it could certainly be extended to higher grades. It's current and relevant, yet it ties in well with what they are most likely learning in the regular Social Studies classroom.
