Spring Coverall: R,S,L
Using spring clipart and backgrounds, enjoy this quick and easy game featuring the /r,s,l/ sounds. On the Smartboard, the student will use one grid of 25 /r/, /s/, or /l/ sound pictures. The student will roll a dice to determine how many sounds they are able to "cover" based on their roll. As they cover the picture, the student must say the word to practice their /r,s,l/ sound. This product is a pop quiz that you can do individually or as a group. Using this tool, you can quiz student knowledge of the elements of art.
This quiz is 5 pages of popular artworks and a list of the elements of art. Students are asked to match the elements with each picture. Learning and assessment occurs in the discussion of the reasons for their choice.

Picasso Cubism Overview
This is a SMARTnotebook lesson about Pablo Picasso and his Cubist style of artwork. It includes links to a video, colouring pages and more, as well as a hands on lesson idea to complete after the theory part of the lesson.
This lesson was originally made for a special education high school class, and is suitable for most ages.
This would also be a great lesson for a relief teacher to use, as it requires minimal preparation.

Paleolithic Cave Paintings
A hands on learning experience replicating the paleolithic cave paintings found in Lascaux, France.
First, we read the article https://www.ancient.eu/Lascaux_Cave/ to learn all about it.
Then, look at pictures, examples, and descriptions on the SMART presentation.
Lastly, the students create their own art (laying on the floor under their desks in a dark room).
The students LOVE this activity. There's no better way to learn than to experience it!!
