People I Can Talk to Social Story
Social story to help young children with autism understand the difference between strangers and helpers. I made this story for a student who was introducing himself to strangers out in public. The story tells children that if they see someone they'd like to say "hi" to that they don't know, ask mom or dad first. The story also notes that community helpers wear uniforms or badges and it is okay to talk to them if you need help with something. Much more practical than the idea of "stranger danger.
