Random Acts of Kindness | Christmas
I think any sort of activity that teaches kindness is a must in an elementary classroom. I typically do a unit on "random acts of kindness" during the time after Thanksgiving Break and before Christmas Break. This year I decided to pair my unit with an "Elf on the Shelf." Please note - This activity does NOT have to be done with an elf on the shelf. It will work with or without one. I have included a sample of the letter that I gave to my kids when our elf arrived. I use this little poem on my christmas ornaments that we make for parents every year. We buy ribbon from the dollar tree and then I measure how tall the students are and put them in the bauble ornament (also bought from the dollar tree). Then I attach this poem with their name and year typed in it.
