Back To School Name Game Activity
Interactive SmartBoard activity to go along with an introductory name game. Students say the first letter of their name and then identify something that they like that begins with the same letter. Supported with visuals for each letter. The student can then practice using a full sentence, also supported with visuals, to tell the class "My name is _____ and I like ________". Apple SmartBoard Attendance
As each student enters the classroom, they will move their apple to the basket. Any leftover apples will indicate absent students. Change the names to fit your roster. Select the name and use Ctrl+R to ungroup. Change the name, select both the apple and name, and use Ctrl+G to group them back together. Finally use Ctrl+Shift+V to allow the graphic to move.

I have used this Slideshow for Meet the Teacher Night for a few years now. I begin each year by telling a little about me and displaying pictures of me and my family. It makes it a little less "formal" and starts a relationship immediately with the parents. The slideshow then included expectations for the teacher, student and parents. This also contains my behavior management, daily schedule, school times, curriculum resources, attendance and grading policy.
