This is a basic step by step guide for teachers and students to learn how to read, and sing using solfege.
I created this smart board plan for teaching solfege because nothing else was jiving for my classes.
I teach 4th and 5th grade music classes using this and they catch on fast!

Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Solfege Pattern Game: Level 3
In this SMART notebook file, the teacher will click on the link on each page, and a recorded solfege pattern played on the piano (in the key of D+) will sound. Students simply show you which pattern they hear by giving you a thumbs up or down! A nice, easy informal assessment to see quickly who "has it"!
This file contains level 3 which uses only la-so-mi-re-do.

This is a great way to review position for your string orchestra. Teach students to value and respect their instrument. They will also review their rest, seated, and playing positions. There are also reminders about bow hold, fingernails, and practicing.

Music Room Interactive Visuals
This is an interactive file with the visuals I use most often in my classroom.
Body percussion staff- you can move the notes on the staff to make ostinatos to repeat.
Solfege Ladder- you can move the solfege notes that you are not yet using- put them in the box and clear the visual to the only solfege notes you and your students need.
Xylophone visual- you can demonstrate xylophone patterns for students in a large fashion, as well you can remove the bars you are not using.

Circle of 5th Spinner in Major
Did you ever want a randomizer that picks any one of the 12 keys?
This SMART notebook file is a Circle of fifths diagram that randomly picks a major key. It can also be used to pick one notes.

Solfege Koosh Aural Skills Game!
Students gently toss a kooshball at a dot, which brings them to an aural skills exercise! This game works on identifying patterns sol-mi-do, sol-mi-sol, and mi-sol-do, aurally.

Grand Behavior Plan
This is a package for my Class Behavior Plan for my music room.

Bass Clef Floor Game
Create a Bass Clef Floor Staff with masking tape or painters tape. This game can be used as a musical center. One student touches the board to make the dial spin. Two students follow the instructions of the spinner (ex. Right Foot on A). From here you can make up your own rules. You can play for a timed period, until someone falls, or until someone makes a mistake.
