This reading assessment is focused on the ten common core reading informational standards common to grades 6, 7, and 8. There are a total of 29 assessment questions in two formats: multiple choice and constructed response.
There are also 3 full-length writing responses based on the text- narrative, informational, and opinion. A rubric is included for grading as are lined papers for a sense of uniformity among students.
The main passage has a Flesch-Kincaid reading level of 8.6.
