Heavy work can provide resistive input to the joints and muscles. This input can improve attention, arousal levels, body awareness, muscle tone, BUT most importantly regulation! Heavy work activities are especially effective for kids who seek movement, and proprioceptive input (deep pressure), and are often described as movers and shakers.
