Surface Area

This activity guides the learner in finding the surface area of a 3-D object (cube). TLW classifies the 3-D object by labeling its edges, faces, and vertices. Then, given dimensions and a visual representation of the net of a cube, TLW calculate the area of each face and sum the total for the cube's surface area. I use this resource as an interactive math journal activity for my alternate middle school math class, but it can be used as differentiated notes, quiz, or for reinforcement or review.

This is a Geometry Assessment for 3rd and 4th grade students. This assessment consists of 21 multiple choice word problems and is aligned to the common core. This assessment will help students prepare for the end of grade testing. Students will identify shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) and that they may share attributes (e.g., having four sides). They will recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals. • Identify triangles, qu
