An eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the moon is directed wholly or partially between the sun and the earth, obscuring or blocking part of the sunlight. It can be a solar or lunar eclipse, and occurs when the Earth, Sun and Moon are accelerating on the same general line.
