Some of my second grade students needed extra helping figuring out how to add 2- and 3-digit numbers. I created this graphic organizer to help them with two strategies: break apart and algorithm with pictures.The break apart graphic organizer can be used for 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-digit addition problems with two addends. I made several copies of these graphic organizers on cardstock, laminated them, and had my students use them with dry erase markers.
