I use this unit to make a connection and to compare non-fiction to fiction. The first activities address 3 main common core fiction standards: characters, retelling fiction stories, and identifying the lesson or moral in a story. The last two compare Stellaluna to a nf text and introduce NF features using a smartboard file all about bats.
