I use this cutting sheet when assessing preschoolers on their cutting skills. I complete at the beginning of the year and two additional times before parent teacher conferences. When assessing, I do not support them in holding the scissors. I observe the way they hold scissors and paper and snap a picture for their portfolio. Once I get the baseline of how they are with this fine motor task, I will support them in gaining strength in their hands to achieve this goal of cutting on various lines.
