Students watch a short video about Benjamin Banneker's life and accomplishments, then collaborate to produce a PowerPoint slideshow. They'll solve equations using substitution to decode their own Tick-tock Clock, after watching a read-aloud of the book. Their creative side will run wild with an open slide for their own showcase of Mr. Banneker's life. My students were amazed at all he accomplished and excited to learn more to contribute to our celebration of Black History Month.
