Area of Shaded Region - Moving Parts
Finding the area of a shaded region is a difficult concept for students when they are given 2d pictures with parts shaded. This Smartboard lesson allows students to visual see where shaded regions develop from layering. Once they realize the layering affect, students can discover that the area of the shaded region is found by subtracting the two shapes. Students also struggle with layered circles.
