As an elementary computer teacher, my colleagues needed a way for their students to track their progress. They were using pieces of papers in binders which were taking a lot of time. Having a 1:1 district, each student has their own laptop. I created a digital tracking system to help track their progress digitally. The thumbnail preview is an example of the NUMBERS version. I am also including an E

A student first chooses a square, then they must follow the instructions in that square. If the student is correct, they can draw their symbol. If they are incorrect, they cannot draw their symbol and lose a turn. Students can choose any unmarked square. Press F9 on your keyboard to randomise the board. Based on the original Tic Tac Toe / Naughts and Crosses. First, students choose a square, but before they can place their naught or cross, they must first complete the instruction in the square: either make a statement or ask a question about a particular word or topic. There are 60 boards with no two boards that are the same. This ensures every student has a different board. If you want to randomise the boards, simply press F9 before printing.

Given the language standard regarding allusions, recognizing them, understanding their meaning, and being able to use them can be a daunting task for teachers of teens (grades 6-12). This is a 10 page (5 pages double sided) Excel file resource for student binders and student authors. Helping students recognize common expressions as allusions to either an event, person(s), thing, or place with the original information and often how it is used, but I do not want to copy the whole Bible on paper,

Importance of learning English language arts

English language arts (ELA) concepts — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — empower students to become effective communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners. They are the foundation for all other types of learning as students must rely on ELA skills to master content from other subject areas and communicate what they’ve learned.

Strong reading skills can help students make sense of written content, and gather information for further analysis. Writing skills can help students articulate their ideas, construct arguments, and synthesize information. And speaking and listening skills empower students to clearly present their ideas, participate in group discussions, and collaborate with their classmates. This is why teaching English language arts is critically important for student’s success in school and beyond.

Benefits of learning English language arts

Learning English language arts offers many benefits to students both in school and beyond. It helps students:
