Book Tasting Flipchart
This is a flipchart that I made for the beginning of the year in my library. It is for grades 2-6. Each grade contains an opening slide, series specific slides, and an exit ticket slide. Some slides contain links to book trailers and movie trailers. I use this to get kids hooked on a series right at the start of the year.

Family Pictures Literal Comprehension Grades K-1 and 4th
This flipchart is on the Common Core read-aloud list for Kdg-1st grades. This title (Family Pictures) is also in an older 4th grade reading book.
I designed this flipchart since 4th graders are often required to work towards higher-thinking skills. Fourth graders often lag in this area since they can't remember what they've read. So, I created a series of literal comprehension flipcharts to address this problem.

I use this flipchart with B.J. Novak's "The Book With No Pictures". We read the text and then I transition into the flipchart with the question, "Are you ready for a book with no pictures?" This is a very simple, six slide Flipchart that I use to introduce each of the sections in our library. I use this to prep students to use the computer catalog. The sections in my library are Everybody (usually Easy in other libraries), Chapter Books (FIC), Dewey (Nonfiction), and Biography. I call renamed our Easy section "Everybody" so that older kids (3-6) do not feel stigmatized about selecting books from that section.
