This activity asks students to read the Dylan Thomas poem that inspired the title After the First Death and annotate it for both what the poem is saying and how the author said it. Then students respond to a writing prompt that asks them to analyze the author's choice.Very rigorous assignment that can be done individually or in pairs. I use this as a timed writing in an accelerated class but it could be adapted for any level.Fully editable.
