Students will move and perform to the classic Jazz tune by Dave Brubeck. They learn the ostinato and clap and march to the ostinato in a fun circle dance and can also play along with the bass line. Essential and ELA questions are provided to connect to literacy.
A follow-up lesson has the students composing their own ostinati and performing for their peers. A Common Core classic!

A review flipchart of days, months, dates, and numbers coupled with the introduction of demonstrative adjectives. Used in conjunction with Promenades, lesson 11. The flipchart is linked to interactive websites to practice vocabulary on the IWB.
