I always send the first 2 pages to parents after the initial phone call or email so they understand my background, my services, and Orton-Gillingham. Test Taking Strategies / Follow Directions Prank/Fake Quiz
This quiz is a fun and funny way to get students to realize they need to pay attention to directions.
There is a list of numerous steps to complete, which can actually be fun for students. HOWEVER, the first step says to "read all directions before continuing" and the last step says "only do..." so most students mess this up and do all the steps as they go along. Then you can give them the lesson at the end :)

100th Day Fruit Loop Necklace Sorting and Counting Mats
These mats were created especially for a 100th Day celebration! Students sort fruit loop cereal by color on the first mat. Students then transfer the fruit loops onto the second mat*, counting to 100, but in color-coded groups of 10. The fruit loops can then be strung onto a necklace** to wear and display their knowledge of 100 and counting by tens! Print the mats on cardstock and laminate to ensure durability. (Mine have lasted for years!)

This is a Skills Inventory that I created for my Developmentally Delayed 5-K and 1st grade self-contained class. I assess my students using this inventory at the beginnings of the year, quarterly, and before annual IEPs. I compiled this skills inventory from several checklists and charts to make one comprehensive list of skills of which I assess my students.
