I used the acronym "SACKED," which stands for "Slavery and Sectionalism," "Arguments," "Compromises," "Kansas-Nebraska Act," "Election," and "Decision to Secede." This is an easy way for the students to remember the main causes of the Civil War, and they are able to remember the acronym when it comes to test time. This is a particularly fun way for students to do history or literature projects--what would Alexander the Great's "Farcebook" page look like? What would Henry VIII's favorite TV shows be? What would "Farcebook" suggest as friends for Emily Dickinson? Image is hand-drawn/designed and touched up using GIMP 2. Ask me about custom work!
