Superhero Research Project - Distance learning friendly
This project is one that will encourage cross-curricular learning. There is a blend of history, art, and literature within this research project. Students will research a superhero, how they changed overtime, and what those changes show about the society they were created in. This has the project instructions, rubric, and example included. I would link this to King Arthur legends as I teach mostly British literature but it could be used without linking it.

Deep Description Write and Draw
This exercise teaches students how to look deeply into a picture. Students choose an image from the textbook and describe it in detail. The students then trade their essay with another student group who draws the described image. At the end of the lesson, students get to critique each other's descriptions.
