A Long Way Gone-- "Weapon Conflict" Song Analysis
As (or after) your students read A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, have them listen to and analyze the song called "Weapon Conflict" by Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars in this google slides. The slides contain all needed links to access the song and podcast about the band. Students are asked to create a 5 song playlist which corresponds with Shakespeare's Macbeth. Each entry must include bits of the song's lyrics and a 4-5 sentence analysis to explain how the lyrics are relevant to a specified scene in Macbeth.
