Budget to Buy it! Junior Grades Financial Literacy
Put your students in real life money situations with these simulation activities. There are 3 separate activities. Students must stay within a budget while purchasing items to make dinner, play tennis and throw a party. There is added challenge in buying multiple items and calculating sale prices. Answer keys are included with BTBI dinner and tennis and a reflection task is included for BTBI party time.

Students will be given a budget that you create. They must choose one option of the five to spend their money on after they pay their bills. Once they make their choice, they must explain why they made their decision. I usually give them an index card with an amount and then write their rent, utilities, car, etc. on it and ask them to make the deductions. You can also give them one amount to save time.
