The Weddings of King Henry VIII: Best Man or Bridesmaid Speech
This activity uses the R.A.F.T. method (Role, audience, format, topic) and puts the student in the shoes of a friend of King Henry VIII or a friend of one of his wives.
Students are to write a best man/bridesmaid speech after gathering information for the person they choose to honor.
This activity also contains an example I wrote honoring King Henry VIII where I took on the role of his whipping boy.
