Buying Food - Using Coupons Project (Real World Math)
For this project the students are required to pick and event they will be buying food for; BBQ, Birthday Party, Fancy Breakfast etc.
They will be than required to make a shopping list and itemize the amount they will be spending for each item on a $50 dollar budget.
Finally students will be given coupons to clip so that they can make savings towards their budget. Students will also figure out their savings after using the coupons.

For this project the students are required to pretend they are looking for an apartment to rent.
The project is broken up into 3 parts:
During the first part they are required to choose an apartment in the local newspaper or apartment listing book or website. They must than determine how much money they are required to earn at their job so that they can live in this apartment.

This is a very basic traveling project. The students are required to use a map of Southeastern Pennsylvania and answer questions regarding:
Understanding Scale
Figuring distance using that scale
Finding routes to take places
Volume Project
This project focuses on the concepts of Volume, Area, and Perimeter, requiring students to measure and determine the volume of rectangular objects in their classroom. A detailed rubric is included to assess students' understanding of the material.
