Color, Cut, and Glue Palm Tree Activity
Color palm tree parts, then cut out pieces. Cut small lines of leaves. Draw Lin for water across paper and draw line for sand too. Glue tree trunk with enough space at the top for the fronds. Glue at the two ends and place fronds from on top of the tree on up. Add the coconuts, overlapping slightly.

Print out two copies and laminate or put into sheet protectors. Have student verbally identify colors from left to right, row by row, top to bottom. Keep track of responses on the second sheet. You can time the activity to track fluency as well as accurate responses. Great for students that have difficulty reading words. Adapt the activity by having student do fewer rows.

3-D Fourth of July Craft
Print on regular paper. Cut 1/2 of each wing and roll forward till wings stand out away fro the page. Glue the paper to a piece of white card stock without gluing down the wings. Trace the hollow words.

Use the pictures to make letters with blocks on a base. Bases can be ordered online fairly cheaply. This activity not only works on letter formation, but also attention to detail (size, number of circles, color- if wanted, and spatial orientation). It takes a bit of strength to push blocks into place and pull them off, so it’s also a good finger strengthening activity.
