Algebra Function Activity Powerpoint

I used this project as a way to help students understand functions by graphing their own. Throughout this unit, I did poster activities like this but had the students in groups, so then they were able to create one individually. It also helped students grow their technology use. I had them do it in Google Slides, but it can also be done in Powerpoint. I assigned each student their own function, and differed between Linear, Exponential, and Quadratic functions.

Students will create a real life situation that will produce two linear equations. Students should make two tables based on the situation, then pick two points from each table to create an equation respective to each table. Next, they should set the two equations equal to each other to find the intersection. Afterwards, they should graph and translate all work on to a poster or powerpoint. The PDF is a physical space for students to document each part of the process. Aligned to CCSS ACED2 REI10

The PowerPoint is a handy review of the three forms of a quadratic equation: Standard form, vertex form, and factored form. My students usually work in small groups and have a little fun trying to be the first to answer correctly. The answers are included as animations. Also included is a copy of the instructions for a fun "Parabola Project". In the project students use technology to overlay graphs onto images with parabolas. I created this PowerPoint as a review for that project. The instruc

Algebra Take Out Menu Homework

This is a homework document where students take some independence in their own learning. They can choose the homework task they undertake in order to display their own knowledge in a more interesting way than a worksheet! Lets get rid of death by worksheet in Math shall we! Tasks involve transformations of graphs, Factorizing quadratics, setting up and solving and a few others. The beauty of this resource is that it can be applied for several weeks as students can select which task to do per w
