This is a great sorting activity for the community helpers theme. Each page contains pictures of 2 community helpers and 4 or 5 objects that are associated with the helpers. The students will move the objects to their respective community helper.

This is an interactive lesson that I use once I have covered basic community helpers and what they use. In this activity is asks a question like "what do firemen drive to a fire?" This is an introductory lesson to community helpers. There is a song about helpers and pictures of 11 different helpers and a brief description of what they do. Then the last section is a question format such as "who helps put out fires" and your children should select the correct picture (with a reinforcing sound for choosing correctly).

This is one of my language activities for preschoolers as an introduction to the different parts of the community like churches, grocery stores, and libraries. It has 2 related songs and several locations with pictures of what these places look like. There are not any opportunities for children to come up and actually interact with the board in this lesson, but I've done some great sorting activities with other materials once I use this to introduce the lesson.

This is a cute language lesson into animal movements such as hopping, swimming, etc. It includes pictures of real animals as well as a song about animal movements.

Action words classroom language activity
This activity is great practice for early learners using action words. The first few slides are simple animated (moving) pictures of characters doing things like clapping and throwing. The next set of pictures has children choosing from a field of two which one is the correct answer. When they choose the correct response there is a reinforcing "YAY" sound.

All about me flipchart
This is a great chart for classroom introductions. It starts with the sesame street song "What I am" and then you go through the chart as a class. You have to click on the video to start the song. Everywhere that you see a portrait box you add the child's face. I also usually place a mirror somewhere close by when you are asking them about what they look like. Its a great interactive language lesson.
