Non-Fiction Text Features PowerPoint Review
This is a PowerPoint that reviews non-fiction text features. The PowerPoint is set up to ask "Who am I?" and the students guess before going to the next slide which reveals the answer. You can use this PowerPoint as a whole class review or set it up within a center for students to quiz themselves. I showed this review the day after my class took notes and it can be shown as a review before a test.

This science lesson explores the nature of salt vs. fresh water. It is designed for individual/paired independent learning, but has room for specific modifications. The lesson requires a computer to watch YouTube videos, a chart to record vocabulary, and other people to discuss questions and discoveries. The file includes the one lesson (a copy for students and a Teacher's Copy), and the first section of a science journal template that can be used and modified for future lessons.

Science Observation - Nature Walk
This is a data collection form we use to practice our scientific observation skills. Students are encouraged to use describing words. We usually fold back the last line of the organizer so that students read their partners clues and then try to guess what they observed on their walk.

Ponderous Pumpkins
K, 1st, 2nd math fall activity. Form of measurement could be cups or grams. My class had 3 pumpkins for this activity. There were 3 groups, so a group of students only worked with one pumpkin for the entire activity. Students looked over the pumpkins, then estimated how many cups we could fill up with the seeds and pulp from the inside of the pumpkin. Students read from the provided sentence frames. Students took turns reaching into the pumpkin and pulling out the seeds, etc and filled up a 8oz.
