Ayn Rand Anthem mini-DBQ with Common Core Standards

This is a mini-DBQ created for Anthem, but it could be easily modified for any Ayn Rand text that deals with personal identity or any dystopian text in general that deals with personal identity. It is only one page long, yet it will take students a while to wrap their heads around. It is written in the somewhat sparse DBQ (data based question) style that is promoted heavily for AP classes; however, I used this primarily with my college prep course.

This is a DBQ that combines a selection of texts with the theme of culture and belonging. Students will work on an essay about how culture (or the lack thereof) can affect one's sense of belonging. Teachers are encouraged to guide the students through the readings, with the primary reading being Ken Liu's "The Paper Menagerie" and may help students identify three possible aspects that can affect a person's sense of belonging.
