Poetry Review Pixel Art
Need a way to keep your students engaged with a review of poetry? Look no further! Your students will love how fun this activity is and how it makes them reflect on what they've learned about poetry! I used this in my English 10 classroom as a review for our final quiz in poetry. Students had to type in the correct answer to reveal the picture. Spelling, of course, counts! This review covers types of poems and figurative language.

Use cards as a game to ask questions about a text. Students roll a color dice/spin a color wheel and a number dice. The color dice determines which question they need to answer. When they answer correctly, they get the points that are listed on the number dice.

Student Non-Fiction Book Publishing Rubric
I used this rubric for my students when they created non-fiction books about the Native American Tribes. Students folded 3-4 sheets of white paper in half, bound it with staples, and then filled it in with the required content. This project incorporated our social studies content while reinforcing writing skills and identifying, using, and creating text features. Top That Score- MAPs test motivational Program
This is a program to encourage kids to set goals to score higher on MAPs tests.
Using the goal setting sheets on the MAPs website, set the expected growth goal for each individual student, and collective school score (add up all growth goal numbers for the team approach). Post these everywhere. Tell the student they are competing with themselves, with the other classrooms, and together as a school to get the best scores.
