Exponential Functions Would You Rather Introduction

Expressions vs Equations EDITABLE
One of my mathematical pet peeves is not knowing the difference between an expression and an equation. It makes me crazy when a student tries to solve a expression. To try to rectify this misconception I made this one slide Smart Notebook activity where student match up the correct vocabulary term with expression or equation.

Alg 1 - Magic Tunnel - Exponent Definition
Students are amazed when you move the term on the left through the tunnel and the tunnel uses the definition of an exponent to re-write the expression. This file contains three different pages of exponent expressions. Expressions can be passes from the left to the right or from the right to the left. Complete the Square- Algebra Tiles
This is a notebook that I created to go along with my competing the square lesson. This lesson used Algebra Tiles to help students recognize that they are actually completing a square... Worked very well with our ELL and SPED students. I'm new at this so I don't quite know how to bundle the notebook with the handouts... I attached them separately!

Inequalities Jeopardy
This jeopardy game consists of 3 categories (graphing, solving, and word problems) about inequalities. Each category has 5 questions. There is also a final jeopardy question. There is a table for the questions with links to the questions and a link back to the table on each slide. Each question slide has the answer included but it has been covered by a rectangle that can be moved away to reveal the answer. There is also enough space on each slide to work out the solution for each question.

Factoring Matching Activity for Smart Board
In this Smart Board activity, students move rectangles on the screen into the yellow game board. Each rectangle has an expression on all four sides. Students must line up expressions with their factored or trinomial form. This can be tricky, as some expressions appear more than once. Even finding the starting point can be tricky!Multiple slides are included to make re-starting the activity simple. Graphing Hangman

Simplifying Square Roots
This smartboard lesson uses discovery learning to find that square roots of products can be split up. For the lesson, students are shown that the square root of 4 and 16 is equal to the product of the square root of 4 and the square root of 16.
