Clash of the Titans FlipChart

This interactive whiteboard flipchart is the companion to the COT worksheet. All coordinate with the older version of Clash of the Titans ... an introduction to Homer's Odyssey. It allows teacher/student to complete an interactive version of the lesson, engaging students on all levels. NOTE: This is a large file and will take some time to download.

This flipchart examines theme...what it is and how to find it. Students will look at definitions as well as several strategies for reading and analyzing text in order to determine theme. There is a practice at the end where students can practice these skills. There are accompanying notes available for purchase for students to fill out that correspond with the underlined key concepts in the slide show.

Parody Flipchart

This is a quick two slide Flipchart that I use to introduce parody. The first slide has a simple definition of a parody. The second slide has two links that lead to examples of parody. The first link is to an Adele "Hello" parody done by a teacher who really wants a snow day. The second link is to the SNL skit "Taco Town". I use this flipchart to intro parody and then we read The Giving Tree and its parody The Taking Tree.
