TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught biology, chemistry, environmental science, and general science at the high school level. I have experience in urban, suburban, and rural settings. I have also taught in informal settings, such as a museum and an environmental education center.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have found that the most effective teaching strategies put the students to work. Labs, manipulatives, projects, and discovery learning are my focus. Lessons are designed to encourage students to find their own answers. When I use direct instruction, notes are kept short and to the point.
