TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Cindy Tatum, I am the Education Liaison/Curriculum Developer for Wreaths Across America. I was a public-school educator for 26 years, I retired in May 2020. Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, whose mission is to Remember our Fallen, Honor our US Veterans and Teach the Value of Freedom to Our Children. In 2021, WAA volunteers placed more than 2.4 million veterans' wreaths on headstones at 3,137 participating locations around the United States to honor the service and sacrifices veterans made for our freedoms. A little over a year ago, Karen Worcester, Executive Director for WAA asked me if I would review their education program and provide curriculum to help the organization strengthen the Teach component of their mission, focusing on character development and service.
