I am a homeschool mom. I have taught my ADHD, ODD son from kinder through 6th grade. We have always been connected to a Charter School. When my son was in 4th grade, I decided to write a curriculum based on his interests. I chose Jules Verne novels as the theme for the year. We both love reading science fiction and studying real science. While we were reading “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, we studied Oceanography and Marine Biology. We also studied the life and accomplishments of Jacques Cousteau and his descendants. Since my degree is in Art History, we spent some time studying the birth of photography and Impressionism.
Learning is fun! Kids are naturally curious about the world around them. My goal has always been to give my son a love of learning, the tools to discern information, and exposure to as many subjects and experiences as possible. I am flexible to my son’s needs and interests as well as academic requirements.

My degree is in Art History, because I love learning about everything! When you study Art, not only are you learning about medium, style, technique, and subject, you also learn about history, society, and science. Art is a snapshot of history and culture. It has a symbiotic relationship with science and technology.
My son and I love exploring nature and interacting with animals. I am an artist and my son is an engineer. Our newest interest is 3D printing. I am excited to see what we can create together. I also create digital art and am exploring the NFT world.
