I have taught K through 12th Grade Art in Florida. I also have taught college students Art in Cambodia. I have taught The Arts classes of drama, dance and Art at The Master's Academy of Fine Arts in Georgia. I have taught first grade in Washington,D.C. I currently teach K-4/Preschool Art in California along with teaching 3-5th grade sunday school, junior highschoolers youth group/Awana Trek, and am blessed to teach in our homeschool! Gotta love teaching and love kids!!! :)
My teaching style is creative after the ground rules are laid out for the class. I add teaching dance in Art class as it is one of the arts. I also include a famous artist of the day to inspire us each art class. After the class finishes their assignment I allow them to go to an art center they may pull off the art cart. This works great as all teachers know students finish at different times! I love teaching art to include making gifts for special holidays. For example we make pottery and sculpture for Christmas and Easter gifts and more as you'll see in the curriculum I wrote.
As K through 12th Art teacher in Florida me and my students won more awards for our art then ever before at a total of 28 awards at the North Florida Fair. We were features in the local paper for that accomplishment. I had my art and jewelry in Treasures of Madison Art Gallery and now sell my Art on-line at: http://www.americanframe.com/search.aspx?prodtype=Art&keyword=Renee+C.+Smith
