I've taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th grade for over 2 decades in 3 different states.
I love to do things that allow the kids to have some fun and flexibility. If the curriculum allows it, project based learning is something I truly love. Kids should be interacting with each other throughout the day, so they can constantly discuss and apply their learning.

I went to school at Kansas State University. There I graduated with a degree in K-8 education. I also did extra coursework to receive an area of concentration in music and social science. Since then I've focused my recertification hours on technology, behavior, and gifted education.
I love to include humor and whimsy wherever I can. When I was young, I collected unicorns, and was very excited to see them trending again. I definitely jumped on that bandwagon with my classroom, and now I love using them in my branding. Unicorns are fun and magical. I have 2 boys that keep me young, and I consider all my students my kids too. They make me smile, laugh, and keep me learning every day.
