This is my 13th year of teaching. I spent 6 years teaching second grade, 2 years teaching fifth grade and 1 year in fourth grade at Hillcrest Elementary School. I recently started my 5th year teaching at the 6th Grade level. Having previously taught English Language Arts, I recently moved to Family and Consumer Sciences!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading from New Mexico State University in 2004. I received a TESOL endorsement from Eastern New Mexico State University in 2006. I later worked on completing a Master of Arts in Education in 2009. In 2014 I became recognized as a Level III teacher by the State of New Mexico. I am currently working on my plus 45 hours above my masters.
My husband and I have been married for 10 years, and we have a son who is just turned three and are very close to our niece, who is in the fourth grade. My hobbies include traveling to rodeos for the kids, my husband or myself. As a family, we love to ride horses, and we spend a great deal of time working and helping on the ranch my husband runs. We live about forty-five minutes from town, between Carlsbad and Artesia New Mexico.
