I have taught in public and private schools, and this is my tenth year of teaching. I have taught 3 years in the 3rd grade, with additional experience in the 4th grade, 5 years in the 5th grade, one year in PreK2, and now I'm teaching PreK4.
Teaching is an incredible journey and life changing experience. It has its ups and downs, but it always has love. With so many different learners, I feel that it is best use all types of activities to engage student response. I particularly enjoy hands on activities and cooperative learning. I like to get the students moving; it helps them to think. There is almost always a class project going on in our room. Teaching is wonderful because every day is different.
I was voted "Teacher of the Year" by my colleagues at my school in 2010.
I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis.
I enjoy biking, gardening, being outdoors, and discovering the world with my two little boys. Life is indeed an adventure!
