TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my 10th year of teaching. This includes experience as a Curriculum Coach, Kindergarten teacher, a Learning Disabilities resource room teacher, an Early Intervention Program teacher, 4th and 5th grade Language Arts, and (currently) a Gifted Program Coordinator and teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe students learn best when they are allowed to learn at their own rate, with facilitation and guidance from the teacher. Students who are constantly pressured do not do their best work and get lost in the shuffle of our crowded classrooms.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA in 2004. I have two graduate degrees, both from Nova Southeastern in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction, along with an Educator Specialist's Degree in Curriculum & Instructional Management & Administration.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have spent my life and career in the rural south. After teaching for my first two years in a town that was very similar to where I grew up, I decided to move back home and continue educating rural students. I enjoy having a positive impact on students in the area where I grew up, and want to have the same effect on them my teachers had on me.
