I have been teaching pre-school and primary-aged children learning English as a foreign and second language for over 30 years. I'm also a teacher trainer, materials writer and was an author for Oxford University Press for over 25 years. I am passionate about helping children to become confident learners.
As my learners are learning English as a foreign or second language, my teaching style is very 'hands-on', to make the children's learning experiential and make the English they are learning easy for them to understand.
I feel honoured to have won the Duke of Edinburgh Writing Prize for the teacher resource book, Writing with children, which I co-wrote for the Oxford University Press. I also won an ELTON in 2005 for the books, Three in a tree, which I wrote for learners of English in pre-school aged 3 to 5.
I have an M.A. in English Language Teaching specialising in young learners from the University of Warwick, UK.
